Switch Your Business Water and Save Thousands
SwitchWhiz is backed by industry experts who can help you save money on your business water and wastewater bills. We work with small, medium, and large businesses that struggle to navigate the complicated world of business water suppliers. It doesn’t matter what industry you are in or what size your business is, we can help.
We encourage business owners to compare business water retailers every single year. If business owners stay with the same water supplier, they won’t reap the benefits of all the deals on the market. The sad truth is that business water retailers don’t reward customers for loyalty. So, to get the best deal, you need to shop around.
Our energy experts have created an intelligent comparison generator that understands your business. Owners of small, medium, and large businesses can input their specifications (fresh water, wastewater, and more) and find a supplier that meets their needs. The best thing about SwitchWhiz is it only takes a few minutes. You don’t have to spend endless hours scrolling through the internet looking for business water rates and services. Sounds perfect, right? To compare business water suppliers and find the best deal possible, just follow these steps.
It really is that quick and easy. You can complete the form during your morning commute or between important meetings.
On top of providing business owners with a full survey of the business water market, we also help them complete the switch. When you choose SwitchWhiz, you get a dedicated account manager as part of the package. Your account manager will make the process as seamless as possible so that you can focus on your business. If you have any questions or concerns, they’re only a phone call away.
If you’ve been in business for a while, you may be aware that the water industry was regulated up until the 1st of April, 2017. Each business water supplier controlled a region, and businesses in that region were automatically assigned to the corresponding supplier. This system meant that business owners had to accept the contracts and rates that they were offered. Now, the commercial water market is deregulated. Wholesalers such as United Utilities sell water to retailers like Source4Business or SES Water. Retailers add a percentage to the price to cover customer-facing services like call centres, contracts, marketing, and so on.
As we’ve mentioned, wholesaler rates are a little bit lower than retailer rates.

Business water retailers aren’t as transparent about their rates for large businesses. Large businesses use thousands of cubic metres of water per month, so they are eligible for packages and deals. To see how much your large business will have to spend on water, use our comparison generator. It will show you a list of suppliers that can meet your water needs.
One of the most common questions that we get from our customers is, ‘What are deemed rates?’ Your business water retailer will only put you on deemed rates if your existing contract has ended and you haven’t switched to a different contract. You will also automatically enter into deemed contract if you go to new premises without setting up a contract. Deemed rates are also known as out-of-contract rates, and they are far more expensive than any other business water supplier rates. We encourage business customers to get away from deemed rates as quickly as possible.
If your business spends more than £1,000 per year on water, we will give you a free water audit. A water audit could be just what you need to take control of your finances and reduce your expenses. Just use our comparison generator, select a new supplier, and tell your account manager that you need a water audit.
The good news is that our service is completely free. You don’t have to pay out of pocket to use our comparison generator. There are no paywalls, subscription fees, or anything like that! You can compare business water suppliers, find the best deals, and save money.
Business water retailers only announce new rates once a year. So, it makes sense to survey your options every year. If you have just entered into a 12 month contract, there isn’t much point in comparing suppliers. Most contracts have hefty exit fees which will probably match the amount that you would save by switching suppliers.
If you choose a reliable switching service, your supply will not be disrupted. At SwitchWhiz, we assign an account manager to each and every one of our customers. They work hard to switch your supply without creating any disruptions.
Any good business water audit starts with a specialist. If you are eligible for our free water audit, we will send a specialist to your premises. They will analyse your water system and perform industry-standard checks. At the end of the water audit, they will have a comprehensive list of all the ways that you can make your water usage and system more efficient. The report might include instructions to repair leaky faucets, replace your boiler, or switch to a different business water contract.
Most business water retailers offer fresh water, wastewater, and trade effluent services. Trade effluent is any wastewater that is produced at commercial premises for commercial purposes. A good example of this is fat, oil, and grease that is produced at a restaurant. Suppliers place lots of controls on trade effluent. Your contract may stipulate that the effluent needs to be between certain pH levels, temperature limits, and so on.
